Designed by Seth Raynor/(R) Tom Fazio, Tim Jackson and David Kahn

Once overshadowed by its sibling, the Shore Course, the Dunes Course has transformed into a stunning design worthy of its name. Initially routed by Seth Raynor and completed by Robert Hunter, a partner of Alister MacKenzie, the original vision for the course evolved over time. Raynor’s planned green concepts were altered before they were even constructed. Later remodels, including a 1990s effort by Rees Jones to mimic Raynor’s style, received mixed reviews.

In 2016, Tom Fazio was enlisted to elevate the course’s appeal, but the real transformation was carried out by Tim Jackson and David Kahn, who implemented a MacKenzie-inspired vision. Their redesign added jagged bunkers and diagonal green orientations while framing fairways with striking sandscapes. Today, the Dunes Course combines strategic brilliance with aesthetic splendor, standing as a remarkable counterpart to the Shore Course.
