Originally built with elevated greens and containment mounds, Poppy Hills received a transformative renovation in 2013 by Robert Trent Jones II and Bruce Charlton. The redesign created a graceful, low-profile layout with naturalized sandy areas and pine straw replacing traditional rough, significantly reducing water usage. The result is a more seamless integration with its forested surroundings. Poppy Hills debuted its new look during the 2018 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship, where LPGA player Yealimi Noh claimed victory, showcasing the course’s renewed elegance and playability.
