Riviera Country Club, a compact yet ingenious creation by George C. Thomas Jr. and William P. Bell, offers a mix of unique and challenging features. From a long Redan-style par 3 to a green with a bunker in its center and an alternate-fairway par 4, the course combines strategic depth with visual intrigue. Its iconic 18th green, nestled in a natural amphitheater, and the famously clingy Kikuyu rough make Riviera a natural choice for tournament play.

Over the years, Riviera has hosted notable events, including the 1995 PGA Championship, the 1998 U.S. Senior Open, and the 2017 U.S. Amateur. It’s set to welcome the 2031 U.S. Open and will also serve as a venue for the 2028 Olympics. Yet, it’s the annual PGA Tour event that gives Riviera its enduring spotlight, showcasing its timeless design to the golf world year after year.
